reciprocation

regard (images in the first column) clears space for two people frozen in opposition to discover a sense of commonality through the gift of active attention.  the knit table runner connects the two at their hearts, serving as softening breastplates.
in feed/feel (images in the second column), participants feed each other a dinner i prepare, challenging their sense of self and other.  each offers the vulnerability of her hunger to the other’s gestures of empathic attention.
the third column shows a few images from feedback, a solo exhibition and food event held in trisolini gallery at ohio university.
